Benthics
are tiny aquatic invertebrates who act as indicators of lake health. On
Saturday we’ll collect buckets of matter from the lake bottom. Then the
Technician will sample them in petri dishes & the fun begins. Collectors
catch the “bugs” with tweezers or plastic pipettes. The variety & number
are logged. Kids will get tickets for collecting & will be able to exchange
them for prizes. We’ll supply snacks in the morning & lunch with drinks
throughout the day.
