Lake Health Monitoring

On Saturday, May 3rd,the District Municipality of Muskoka held their annual Lake System Health Monitoring Program Stewardship Workshop. Leech Lake was represented by Larry Jacobs.

A number of cottager associations were represented and some associations outlined existing lake monitoring programs that could be described as interesting, innovative and/or aggressive.

The Leech Lake Water Quality Committee is working on creating a water quality and shoreline manual that it intends to distribute this cottage season.
