Septic Tanks

I have a question that may be ok for the blog site, or perhaps you could answer. Regarding septic system pumping: Are there any pumping companys that people would recommend or suggest to stay away from? Is there any price break on a couple of cottage properties having their septic system pumped out during the same trip? Is there a recommende season to have a septic system pumped out?
I've seen mostly A-1 Septic and All Star out on our lake. ..... several times so I presume no problems with either. I've used A-1 in the past, and they were prompt and efficient. Be sure you get a receipt/certificate to show when it was done so that if ever questioned by the gov't, you can show when last cleaned out. Both these companies offer small discounts if 5 or more locations in close proximity are being done at once (requires a single co-ordinator).
ReplyDeleteFall or spring is best time. If you do it in the spring, do it after the thaw but before the tank starts to biologically work. If you do it in the summer, you will lose your workers and have to treat the tank as a fresh tank.
I was told not to pump in the fall as the tank will not have time to start working and it may be mostly water coming into the cold weather and it could possibly freeze. Spring is best as the tank has all summer to start and do its job so it will not freeze the following winter.

A-1 has quoted $175.00 (taxes included) with reciept if they can get 4 tanks to clean out at the same time. Leon's number is 789-7808.
ReplyDeleteHe also said he would come on the weekend at no extra charge so the owners can be there when the work is done.
Remember, you need to open both hatches on your system for them to pump both sides of the holding tank. Waste in side (influent) will have alot of heavy sludge and crusting on top, while the waste out (effluent) will have sludge in the bottom and should have next to nothing on top or floating.

Yes septic tank cleaning is must because for good fresh water cleaning is must, Tank Cleaning even though it may sit away from the house and in any of your area, which is rarely visited.
